Sleep Disorder?

The last week has not been very good for you.

You have never slept through the night, which isn't good. You are old enough to be able to. My friends have babies that are 4 months that are sleeping through the night and it's been 16 months for us now and mama and dada need a rest!

This week it became obvious to me that something is wrong with your sleeping. You always wake up crying. Never wake up happy. And you always wake up very "out of it".

This week though, you are waking up once or twice in the middle of the night crying. So i go and get you and hold you and you push me away and kick, and you aren't happy at all to "see" me. Then I noticed, that you don't see me at all. You have your eyes closed, and you are crying and making all this fuss in your sleep.

The only way to get you out of it is to wake you, but it takes 5-15 minutes to wake you. I have to turn on a light, sit you up, stand you up, rouse you until you stop crying- and then when you finally open your eyes and stop crying- you just look at me like "where have i been?" the look in your eyes is clearly that you don't even remember that you have been crying for sometmes an hour before waking.

I called the doc and they said it sounds like night terrors. i think so. not sure what they can do . we have an appointment in 2 weeks.

the nurse told me to get you into a very calming bedtime routine, which we did last night. my accupunicturit told me to put lavendar oil on your temples, which i did.

And guess what??? LAST NIGHT YOU SLEPT ALL NIGHT~ When you did wake at 6 am, you woke in that sleep state though- i had to hold you and rouse you for 5-10 minutes before you "came to". but i am not going to complain because at least you did not do it in the middle of the night.

the nurse also said it can be from lack of sleep. at daycare tehy only give you one nap, even though i have told them you need 2. yesterday i told them they have to try to give you 2, or at least one nap with one hour of quiet time for a week to see if there are any changes in you.

i hope you start getting better because sometimes in the day you are not a happy camper. you're tired.
